Price Caps ALWAYS WORK.
The Problem is, it always works to LIMIT PRODUCTION & ACCESS to WHATEVER is “Capped”.
Simply put, if I “Own” a “Good” or Means to Produce that “Good”, I’m going to Sell It at the Best Price I Can Get. I am NOT “in business” to sell My Wares Cheaply (or at a “Discount” to ANYONE … or “Country”)
Despite what Socialistic Countries or “Unions” might think, People & Companies that PRODUCE are NOT bound by THEIR Wishful Thinking. They are bound by Their Own Need to provide a Healthy Return On Investment to; Themselves, Their Companies, Their Investors. These things happen thanks to Healthy Capitalism and NOT due to some Wishful Socialist or Communist “Ideal”.
Really, any HONEST Socialist or Communist Knows and Would Admit that the ONLY THING They have “Produced” ANYWHERE is FAILURE … and Poverty, Pain, Loss and Futility for Their People
Why EU not so smart… set gas price cap to be sell on EU zone (as low as possible), buy the gas from open market, then subsidize the balance. This is what 3rd world and developing nations have been doing for decades! If buy from market at USD100, subsidize USD80, then sold it to all EU zone market. Problem solved! EU got so much money, spend it my friends.

Why no one remembers the US trying to sell EU that LNG was their answer to gas shortages in the early 2000's mystifies me. That was WAY before Ukraine/Russia! US was attempting to get the EU to build LNG Terminals. Remember, anyone?

As neighbour EU built up strong relation with Russia. The economic growth of EU is faster than USA. When you are not at war you can implement price cap to product and producers and suppliers would easily fall in line. But your producer and supplier is at war and you have sanctioned him on several front. He definitely wont follow your price cap

I don't like this video at all it makes it seem like America is forcing Europeans to pay high gas prices on purpose like any country with oil fields the the oil pumped out of the oil field does not really belong to us it belongs to the conglomerate that pumps it out the only person allowed to dictate otherwise is the owner of said oilfield meaning the us could pull oil directly from their own pumps but only if it was going into America
Also France has plenty of oil fields that could ease the suffering of the EU plenty but they refuse to turn on their oil refineries maybe tell them to get their s*** together
