Though inflation cooled slightly in December, gas prices have been on the rise; the national average has surged nearly 40 cents in the last month. Winter traditionally sees less drivers on the roads, but the unusually mild weather season means the demand is high, putting a further strain on supply.

    1. You people cannot seem to grasp how or why this is happening…again. There is no benefit for going Green when there is no inexpensive alternative. WAKE UP! When you can replace our gasoline powered cars for another source at a price we can afford, then maybe you will have change. When you live paycheck to paycheck you can't hope to go out and buy a 65000 electric replacement. The Greedy Democrats are too blame for this debacle. Biden's shutting down the Keystone Pipeline jump started this mess…and he does not know how to fix it. He and his administration are inept!

    2. This country sucks now! Always f’n problems, with all these people making videos about moving to other countries and how great it is, compared to here, we’ve been lied to…and I’m starting to listen

    3. WTH🤔! Someone has to stand up to OPEC and big Business! We also need to tap into our reserves here in the US. I’m in east central Indiana and it’s at$3.45 a gallon here now😫😫.

    4. It's probably because we are about to go back to war and it's to help finance it as well. Plus the military uses a lot of fuel and will pay anything for it because they have to have it for everything

    5. It's all bull****! Just before the holidays gas prices dropped dramatically. Why? Didn't want gas prices decreasing travel and spending during the holiday season. Right after the New Year gas prices started increasing up, up and away. The few families that control the fossil fuel industry and the government are greedy monsters. Believe me when I say clean energy technology has been out there hidden and met nothing but dead ends whenever trying to come to the forefront. Greed has held back advancement and will lead to the end of us all.

    6. Gas companies and grocery stores are making record profits… yet we regular Americans pay more taxes than Amazon, Nike and FedEx… 55 of the largest corporations didn't pay federal taxes in 2020. Tax codes were made super complicated for a reason. But everyone wants to think this is a republican and democrat thing, it's a rich and poor thing. All politicians should have term limits, it has nothing to do with what side of the aisle you're on. After two terms in congress, we pay them a salary and healthcare for the rest of their life. When you're mad at your neighbor, you don't have time to study the real issue in this country, money. They are pointing fingers at other people so you won't look at them, especially the loud ones. Let me say this again, gas companies made RECORD PROFITS last year, like billions in profits. Grocery stores made billions in profit last year.

    7. Gasoline has set a new national floor price of $3.00/gal. It is unlikely we will ever see it below that price again unless there is a very deep recession or another situation like the pandemic. Petroleum products will continue their rise in price, and probably at a more rapid rate in the future as they are getting more expensive to produce. We are already to the point where busting rocks (fracking) is required and profitable.

It is past time to build some nuclear power plants and electrify as much of our transportation and HVAC as possible. Even the OPEC states see that the end of the world oil infrastructure is near.

    8. Good. Maybe people will start walking more. Maybe every major city doesn't have to be a mass of concrete and just for cars and us pedestrians can get a break.

    9. this is the blame of corporate greed.war in russia and ukraine this is also the blame for the presidents across the board all over the earth .most of all this is what happens when u have a terrible winter or hardly no real winter in states like ny state and so many more.over all 2023 is another inflation war.Sure inflation is going down but thats because were in a recession.
