Whatever the veracity of this report it seems that judging by the main western media and its total silence on the subject the US and EU want the subject buried

Most US news media outlets promote whatever propaganda the US government gives them. The international terrorist act against the Nord stream pipelines is a good example, the evidence has always pointed to the US but CNN, likely at the behest of the US government, tried to sell the story of Russia blowing up its own pipelines which never made sense since Russia had the capability to turn them off.
