Woah! Someone didn’t do their research. No states are banning internal combustion engines. The law says “must be plug in hybrid or EV”. Gasoline and diesel engines will still be widely sold in every state after 2035.

We have already been destroying forigien countries trying to mine for these ultra rare materials, creating giant craters in the earth and polluting their water. And now we want to look at destroying our own country. This is not even practical. Our infrastructure can not even come close to supporting this crazy demand for electricity. This braindead idea would force us to create additional nucular power plants in order to support our outdated power to charge all these vehicles. Great idea to "save the enviornment" . Stick with oil and use battery as a small alternative or CNG.

Strip mining for Lithium is much more environmentally harmful than drilling for oil.
My prediction is all the car manufacturers will go bankrupt from trying to force the switch to EV . By the time they realize they are producing something that 80 percent can’t afford it will be to late . Except Toyota they seem to be laying back in the weeds and waiting for the affordable solution.

When you include data on production by Tesla BYD and CATL you’re story while changed will begin to make sense. Add in TESLA’S mission to make two million cars in 2025 and goal of being 25% of market rather than 60% you have a whole new, better, and more realistic story. The question is will FORD be a part of the story.
When we see how the Oil industry has raped the planet it will be hard to trust any industry, but Lithium can be recycled to be used again and again with oil we just get a puff of smoke and the need for more.
