You story has a few omissions;
1. The EU was nervous about Russia turning off the gas, only AFTER the EU started to apply heavy sanctions on Russia.
2. During the Sanctions, Russia NEVER considered turning off the gas, however due to sanctions, Russia now expected payment in Rubles… Seems only fair…
3. Germany turned off the gas flow from THEIR SIDE…
4. Then, Germany was actually hinting at talks with Russia to resume gas flow…
5. US got wind of these possible talks and promptly blew up the pipelines to prevent any agreement between Germany and Russia…
Given the track record of betraying its allies and hypocrisy, USA government is the one who did this.
