The new proposal will hand the power over to state regulators that are appointed by the governor.

  1. How about a cap on how much California government can tax everything? How is it that other states don't need a commission to set gas prices? Are oil companies there just much less greedy than in California? Give me a break!

  2. Fix this while your at gov I used SRP for forty years. didn't know what a power outage was until using sdg&e, just today they dropped power with 0(zero) warning or update expecting to be live at 12. Maybe it was real cold and the electric was frozen and moving very slow, I got my power back at 4:40

  3. Gavin Newsom is an enemy of the people…he has now created his own energy commission that he appointed himself. It will determine how much the oil and gas industry can make. Essentially trying to put them out of business. He promotes his green energy and raise gas prices, pretending to be the good guy. Wake the f up ⬆️

  4. this is going to be a nothing burger, republicans do stuff for the companies and democrats do stuff for the companies but pretend they are doing stuff for the people. look at Bernie, he was the man for the people and their own demo party went for Clinton and then for Obama's yes man.

  5. This will work about as well as rent control, or any other idiotic liberal machinations. Liberal playbook: Step one, create a problem by overregulation. When it creates a problem, blame anyone else. Step 2, create more regulations that make the problems worse, and if possible create new problems. repeat as necessary. We import most of our fuel, as it is too costly to build a refinery in this state due to terrible overregulation. Thus this proposed solution will do absolutely nothing but make the problem worse. They will offer the "solution" of electric cars, which will implode our electricity generation capacity, and they will blame others for the lack of electricity and make more regulations that will make the problems even worse. Uhaul ran out of trucks leaving California, that should tell you something.

  6. The state of California owns oil wells
    Where's our cut.

    Refining oil. Costs nothing.
    By products..

All this tax / fees .. Is what costs us.
    Passed right along.

Just like raising the minimum wage
Prices go up to off set it.

Nothing is done to lower cost of living..

  7. All I’m hearing is more socialism !

The reason gas is higher than other states is because of all the excess taxes
    It’s not excess profits 😂

This is going to turn out just like rent control
    Tons of unexpected consequences
