Cryptocurrency doesn't provide any anonymity, rather pseudo-anonymity.
Any crimes made with crypto are easily traceable today since you need an Gov ID to get crypto, even if you went over this barrier and used bitcoin for crimes, you still have to explain to the IRS how you got Bitcoin inorder to transfer to cash. So instead Paper US dollar is used, which most global crimes are committed in.
