We’re destroying our environment at an alarming rate. But it doesn’t need to be this way. Our new channel Planet A explores the shift towards an eco-friendly world — and challenges our ideas about what dealing with climate change means. We look at the big and the small: What we can do and how the system needs to change. Every Friday we’ll take a truly global look at how to get us out of this mess.

    1. Cole is the West's short term security, nuclear is the West's middle term security and renewable is the West's long term security. Think broad.

    2. The next step should be better insulated housing. The requirements we have in northern Europe should be EU standard. Halves the energy requirement and provides a better living environment.

    3. I love how ppl still in the delusion that if the gasmixture of our planet changes a few 0.1% it is a doomsday scenario , but harvesting the pulse of the planet , wind that disperses heat + moisture , is somehow more green/clean and wont have consequences , not to mention how not green and renewable is building solar panels and battery's …

    4. Never again trust autocratic countries with trade. Be always wary because autocratic leaders are never reliable and they change the rules on a whim.

    5. Thank You President Putin….you did in just one year, what all the bureaucrats in Europe put together couldn't do in over two decades!

    6. I really thankful to Pution to remind Europe that we are strong and inovative!
And coal? Its not a problem at all but a challange. As soon as we (HELIOFLOAT) roll out ower new Photo Bioreactors, the CO2 emission is no longer a problem but an asset.

    7. May the good Lord bring Ukraine a just peace (return of Crimea) this Easter. May Our Lady of Zarvanytsia comfort all who are mourning the loss of loved ones. May all Ukrainians who have died Rest in Peace. May God's Kingdom and not Putin's reign.

    8. why do you blame russians? why dont you blame european politicians and americans becase they never wanted russian gas in europe? why you try to fine the devel in russian not in yourself?

    9. Rubbish! The so-called green energy cannot run the much needed manufacturing industry.
Too proud to publicly acknowledge that it's Russia's cheap and abundant energy that fueled their success and how desperately need Russia and China.
The most strange behavior is their hostility towards the two countries that will actually benefit them while loyal to the one that's destroying them.

    10. it grows faster for the UK, Germany, France, Norway, Finland, Sweden, Luxemburg, Belgium, Netherlands, Spain, Ireland, Austria, Portugal, Spain and Switzerland but not the former eastern block. This means communism that came from Russia ruined Eastern and Central Europe. Perhaps if the above countries froze after 500 years eastern and central europe will somehow reach their standards

    11. Vid please about hypocrisy of importing uranium to us from Russia (preferably it doesn’t turn into a puffy piece about the nuclear savior.) hopefully it can be with the perspective that your wise nation had against nuclear energy. And how insane it is that we are getting uranium from Putin right now.

    12. 22°C too much? Are you nuts? You don't even have them because they froze up and fell off.
Get out of here you warmth hater! 😡👉

    13. How many coal plants have Europe has reopened how many coal imports have increased? Why does DW lies to its viewers this is a false narrative!!!! this is shameful!!!!

    14. Dazu ist die letzte Messe noch lange nicht gelesen. Jetzt haben wir erstmal die Konkurrenzfähigkeit gegen USA und China verloren wegen der hohen Energiepreise.
Bleibt abzuwarten wie sich das entwickelt.

    15. I do have to say I agree with LNG stuff. Tose huge LNG ports and infrastrucutre takes a ton of time and money to build, why not build nuclear instead? We need sustained power supply aside from renewables anyways. And it's fossil fuel bought from unreliable countries -.- Germany really does everything it can to stay away from nuclear for some reason.
