Surprise new cuts in oil production by OPEC+ | The West Asia Post

At a time when countries were already grappling with high oil prices, the OPEC+ announced fresh cuts in its oil production. The U.S. says the world needs lower prices to support economic growth. We ask, the world needs it? Or the west does?

  1. One more reason to continue heavily investing in renewable energy sources, countries need to be independent of other nations oil/gas or at least reduce our purchase of those fuels as much as possible, we need to invest heavily in our energy independence

  2. OPEC don't like the West and might just be helping Russia and China. See some people can put sanctions on other countries and they don't even don't know it.

  3. By seizing OPEC member assets in America, Biden is shooting America in the foot. America as a place to do business is why the dollar is trusted. Break that trust, break the dollar. Death by a thousand cuts.
The Yuan will not replace the dollar, China is a communist loony bin.
    The Euro might though.

  4. In countries such the US.
    1. More electric vehicles are seen on the roads 2. E85 production needs to increase 3 buy smaller vehicles for better fuel mileage. Decoupling the US oil production from the OPEC and allowing the US to set lower fuel prices would be nice. The US is an exporter of refined petrol. Let the OPEC increase oil prices to other Asian countries to $100.00 plus. Will see if those countries economies can support elevated fuel prices

  5. It's just OPEC looking out for its own wellbeing with the economic downturn forced upon it by the West. But, the West is killing itself with their economic sanctions against Russia, and driving up oil prices. While OPEC gains, the US profits obscenely. China and India remain smug. The Europeans, certainly, are the greatest losers, and may realise that the real source of their prosperity and security lies with Russia rather than the US. God help the Poles and Finns!

  6. The oil producing countries are trying to make the most out of a product that is increasingly obsolete. This cut will just encourage the moves away from oil, a product that is largely responsible for global warming.
The open countries are not well positioned geographically to withstand the effects of global warming.

  7. America should not ask OPEC countries to subsidise the Oil for the world. AMERICA IS SO CARING, IT SHOULD EXPORT ITS OWN OIL IN SUBSIDISED PRICES! πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

  8. Let the west buy the exclusive prices middle east oil, and the rest including the middle east producing countries consume cheaper russian oil ha….πŸ˜‚

  9. The West doesn't need crap from anyone. The U.S.A has plenty of oil reserves but won't use them until absolutely necessary. The people in the east hate the west but they all want to live in the west. WHY IS THAT I WONDER?

  10. They are cutting it because China's economy is collapsing. They aren't importing a lot of oil because their manufacturing is dying.
