They know if decentralized currency picks up they will be screwed so they are fast tracking to centralized, government controlled financial dependency. When it's all controlled digitally they just need to hit a switch and everyone is screwed.
If government regulated digital currency become the norm, next time you try to buy crypto you'll get a "sorry you are investing in a currency not supported by CBDC transaction denied"
