Rick Rule argues that ESG (Environmental, Social & Governance) should be understood in an entirely different way than proposed by politicians – as technology has made it possible to lift up the lower third of mankind materially speaking. The billionaires flying into Davos shouldn’t have the right to tell others what not to do; free-market forces are better solutions for these problems, rather than imposing regulations or central planning on individuals as suggested by “big thinkers” like Justin Trudeau. Rule suggests Canada’s refusal to sell natural gas as hypocritical in a world becoming more reliant on energy sources like coal.
As societies become more wealthy, the willingness to pay for improvements like the environment and habitat improvements increases. He notes that without the use of modern fertilizers, we would need twice the arable land to merely survive. For much of humanity, food would become scarcer and or unaffordable. India is doing a lot of research into growing more food in a smaller area, and they are now a net food exporter. We should use every available technology to steward the land and the well-being of humanity.
Solutions already exist and do not need to be imposed by central planners. The success of Central Planners is highly questionable. Socialists have accomplished some amazing, albeit negative things.
Talking Points From This Episode
– Environmental concerns should be addressed through technology, free-market forces & individual solutions rather than regulations or top-down approaches proposed by “big thinkers”.
– Canada’s refusal to sell natural gas, hypocritical in a world becoming more reliant on energy sources like coal.
– Food production can be improved through technology, research, and modern fertilizers.

Oh, I thought that ESG stood for Environmental Socialist Governoring. But, this One World Order agenda will not stop other countries from mining how ever they need to..
Rick rules! 👍👍👍
What Ricki is purposing is tickle down economics. They’ll be nothing left if we do it his way. More rich people isn’t the answer, obviously.
The world has a problem…A J**WISH one
Q&A session week later awesome idea
I am ALWAYS interested in anything Rick Rule has to share.
Yes more Rick would always be a good thing!! Q & A is a thumbs up.
Love you Rick but the earth is No where near being a crowded. It can easily handle 10 times its current population but humans organize ourselves foolishly!
I rarely find myself at odds with Mr. Rule, but, I must take issue with his lumping of one particular Prime Minister in with the "Big Thinkers of the World."
Follow up Q&A session with Rick sounds awesome 👍
The administration that blew up the Russian-European pipeline, spewing unimaginable amounts of gases into the atmosphere cares about the environment?! Come on, man! The country that wants a clean environment makes no difference compared to China and India. All common sense has been suspended. Lordy. God forbid, publicly denouncing the Climate Religion.
What Rick misses with the "inciusion of women in the workforce" is that women who chose to stay at home, raise their kids and care for their house and husband were working. What's happened is household income adjusted for real rates of inflation (not CPI) have forced women into working outside the home just for a family to be able to pay their bills. Furthermore the continually higher rates of divorce have forced more women to work while placing their kids in daycares and having others raise their children. Also has led to higher reliance in the state not only financially but to raise their kids.
Big YES! to Q&A with Rick Rule!
Fascinating conversation guys. Rick is legendary. We appreciate these conversations. Thanks

Free market forces are sometimes, but the always, the answer. Witness the loss of biodiversity in the world, climate change, etc. yes, technology and the free market can solve some of this – but as per these two examples – it often comes too late to fix what we have caused. We often can't get those species back, and it is too late to stop the future losses – it is too late to stop global warming for decades – and will incur the associated issues, despite letting free market forces try to solve the problems. Bottom line is that while we have to forge ahead with new technologies, we have to use less, expect less, and while bringing the standard of living up in the third world – we have to all use less, share more.
I was surprised that Rick seems to think co2 is causing environmental problems, and it's a good thing to sequester it.
Also, that the Earth is "crowded" with people.
That written, I would like to see more of him on this show.
Great work. Would be nice next time to keep have a few minutes on top picks/key investment ideas.
Best phrase of the day, " The Intangible Boogeyman"!

The ruler!!

This is an absolute beauty cheers tom
Subscribed for Rick's Q&A
Mr Rule and Tom believe in efficient market solutions, the Big Thinkers have differnt solutions and methods in mind. Like corruption, nepotism, de-population, fascism, social control etc and the Big Thinkers are the ones ruling the Western world.
Yes, we want Rick frequently on your platform. Thank you!
I'm a simple man. I see Rick Rule, I upvote
Obesity is not a choice when you can't get healthy food Horizon insulin levels from carbohydrate based food sources makes indigenous people obese.
Without wide open borders the "old White Guys" didn't have to suffer because they built a remarkable comfortable standard of living, OF COURSE desperate immigrants outperform. furthermore while he's singing woke kumbaya he fails to say women were FORCED to abandon their children and go to work. twice as many people working but we are not twice as rich in fact we can afford less. another loser boomer self flagulating and throwing his progeny under the bus. gross.
Completely agree with Rick we call them watermelons green on the outside red inside
Rick’s big thinkers should know the saying that the road to hell is paved with good intentions.
The true dopes of the world want total power that is the problem they use government agencies to introduce legislation to get total power
