Defence Secretary Ben Wallace has been explaining why he felt it was vital to supply Ukraine with Storm Shadow cruise missiles.
He was speaking at a joint UK-Norwegian press conference after the two countries signed a new agreement to protect vital pipelines and underwater infrastructure in the North Sea from the threat of Russia.

Norway is not only "a long-time member" it's actually a founding member of NATO. Good to see allies cooperate in this way to assist Ukraine and eachother.

It's unbelievable the total lack of knowledge of actual facts of this conflict especially here in the UK. I suppose it's not surprising considering we are only allowed to hear & see 1 side of the story. What ever happened to critical thinking? Why do our journalist all toe the government line without challenging anything? I thought we were a democracy. There's nothing democratic about getting a 1 sided view every single day. Of course I'll get the uneducated saying I'm a Putin shill despite not mentioning 1 single thing in support of Russia. But that's modern day democracy for you. All I say is its amazing how Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, Syria & especially the old Yugoslavia are conveniently forgotten about when talking about aggressors. We are told constantly of how badly Russia is performing & Wallace talking complete fantasy figures of Russian casualties. Yet a simple question could be asked. Like why do we have to keep escalating with more & more lethal weapons if Ukraine is doing so well? Why is it never mentioned about the BBC & the German media DW's investigation into Russian casualties. Where they looked into every region for funerals hospital admission & so on. The most intensive investigation made into the matter. I'll tell you why it isn't mentioned, they could only come up with the figure of 15 thousand confirmed dead. Also 5 months ago Von De Leyen made a tweet about Ukrainian casulties being over 100 thousands & deleted that tweet after the Ukrainians complained about it. This is what I mean by critical thinking. Do you who whole heartedly support Ukraine actually know what you are supporting? I'm pretty certain you don't & there's a good reason why that's kept out of our media. Funny thing is you only have to look into our western medias historical reports about the Ukrainians you are supporting since 2014. Not Russian media reports but BBC reports. People are very easily manipulated by media, but a little common sense & critical thinking goes a long way. Instead of blindly believing what these people say. Why don't you research for yourselves? I'll give you a perfect example of how incompetent Wallace is. Not long ago he stated Russia had 97% of its military capability in Ukraine. Now call me stupid but if that was the case 3% of the Russian military looking after a country the size of Russia. You'd be stupid to not invade it if you ask me. Seeing as how pathetic the 97% are. As of right now here's a couple of facts for you brain washed sheep. The Ukrainians used the full compliment of 32 patriot missiles trying to shoot down 2 Russian hypersonic missiles. They failed as its impossible to do so. Despite the Ukrainians stating they shot down 6 of them. The Americans confirmed it themselves the Patriot was hit. The Americans also confirmed the Ukrainians were mistaken & they shot no hypersonic missiles down. The Russians shot down 7 storm shadow missiles & showed the evidence of these interceptions. All fired at civilian targets. Today Bakhmut will fall after Ukraine has invested over 50 thousand men in holding it. Tomorrow it will be stated it wasn't an important area. The Ukrainian commander hasn't been seen or heard of for 2 weeks now. Where is he? Zelensky is anywhere but in Ukraine right now. Why would that be? What's happened with this much talked about offensive? It's pretty simple to stop think & start asking questions
The only issue with F16s now it the eye-watering cost of modern jets. Most countries spend years building up their airforces a $billion at a time. This might be an example of an opportunity to lend some planes to Ukraine rather than give them. Once Ukraine has replaced russia as Europe's main source of hydrocarbons (as seems likely) they can pay for them out of the profits over a couple of decades. It would give the donors a great reason to want to ensure a Ukraine victory too!
