Who And How Blew Up the Nord Stream?
It is important to understand that a few dozens of kilograms of explosives, which could be delivered by a group of saboteurs on their own, will not solve the issue of guaranteed detonation of the pipe. The pipe is made of special high-strength steel, the outer diameter is 1220 mm, the wall thickness is up to 41 mm. The pipe is concreted with a “shirt” 110 mm thick.
Gas pipelines have a machine called a Pipeline inspection Gauge ( PIG) which is self propelled and is used to measure and inspect the pipeline. All you have to do is load it up with some explosives, a remote detonator and detonate it.
We know it was the Russians who did it, because the explosions happened at a spot where only the Russian PIGs go. The l PIGs from the European end can’t reach that spot.
One last argument in favor of this theory. The edges of the pipe destroyed by the explosion are turned outward. Consequently, the explosion occurred inside the pipeline.
