If i was ledger I would have just created a new wallet product for the market that is completely separate from the current wallets that can incorporate the seed phrase recovery for users who want that but not to tamper with existing devises.

The only thing I disagree with TJ is, IMO it will NOT take years to figure out the permissioned access and the ability to move more volumes of data. Now with the accessibility to AI and faster more compact processors, these things will advance exponentially…. 5 years max.
