US Journalist Blasts Western Media For Covering Up Truth Over Nord Stream Gas Pipelines Bombing

A sophisticated U.S. investigative journalist on Wednesday criticized the mainstream Western media outlets for turning a blind eye and covering up truth over the involvement of the U.S. Navy in the Nord Stream explosions last year.

American investigative journalist Seymour Hersh exposed in his report last week on the U.S. portal Substack that the U.S. Navy was involved in the Nord Stream explosions.

According to Hersh, a Pulitzer Prize winner, last June, the U.S. Navy divers, operating under the cover of a widely publicized mid-summer NATO exercise known as BALTOPS 22, planted the remotely triggered explosives that destroyed three of the four Nord Stream pipelines three months later.

In his latest post on Substack, titled “The Crap on the Wall,” Hersh said his exposure has met with a wall of silence as many influential media outlets ignored the fact-finding story, including The New York Times and The Washington Post in the U.S., and Financial Times and The Guardian in the UK.

Hersh mentioned that “as an old hand at dropping bombshell stories,” he had worked for The New York Times from 1972 to 1979, where many of his stories appeared on the front pages of the newspaper. His work was also closely followed by The Washington Post. Yet so far neither of the two newspapers published a single line on his investigative report on the bombing of the Nord Stream gas pipelines.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said last week that he was surprised that this bombshell has not become a “headline sensation” in Western media. He also called for “an international investigation” into the incident.
