My concern is, BlackRock could own enough Bitcoin to manipulate the market in the same way that gold and alt coins is being manipulated.
Is that possible?

Blackrock will totally control the price of Bitcoin so that it doesn't compete with the FedCoin CBDC.
I don’t understand how someone like Ran is pushed as an “expert”. GBTC is a closed end trust and for years has been seeking to be approved as an ETF. Accredited investors used GBTC to dump on retail investors during the bull run which caused it to trade at a premium to NAV. Now that BTC is dropping and because of the risk associated with the SEC not allowing conversion to a spot ETF it trades at a discount. The fact no more new BTC is being added or removed from the trust has no impact on it trading at a premium or discount to NAV.
Sadly Ran dont see BlackRock's main agenda as proudly exclaimed by Larry Fink was that they have no qualms in forcing change and to punish those who don't comply or those not being productive.
In the end, BlackRock is just in it for the money and power and they may flip flop just to aggrandize their own profitability & power.
As a famous quote, "There are no honour amongst polyticking thieves".
