The Suez Canal, a vital artery of global trade, connects continents, drives economies, empowers nations, and a pivotal waterway that facilitates the transportation of approximately 12% of global trade

But there is a project, proposed to revolutionize international logistics, the ambitious ‘North-South’ transport corridor spanning 7,200 kilometers emerges as a cost-effective and time-efficient alternative, posing a potential challenge to the longstanding dominance of the Suez Canal.

This will lead to a significant process of integration among the countries, giving a new impetus to their economic development and strengthening their geopolitical role in the world.

    1. You are telling me that they want to replace an all ship route with one where you have to load and unload the cargo on a ship, then on a railroad, than on a ship and than on a truck or railroad again? Please… stupidest idea ever. This may work in a time of war but not in time of peace.

    2. No, you are wrong. The idea is too good for India with a twisted tongue.
Remember: US sanctions Iran and India side with US. So, would Iran trust India? Tell me, to whom does Iran trust its port Chabahar, China or India?
I don't think Iran will allow India to transport its goods across Iranian port and land as Iran has a bone to pick with India. Moreover, India refuses to join BRI. Or India should pay a hefty price for gambling on the wrong horse, the US.
India had cancelled purchasing Iranian oil on May 2019 in order to comply with the US sanctions on Tehran over its nuclear programme.
To this day, India refuses to import oil from Iran. Unlike China. China continues to bravely import oil from Iran despite Canada's arrest of Huawei's CFO Meng Wanzhou at the behest of the US on 1 December 2018.
