    1. Dude, I hope you know that that the United States has a fucking HUMUNGUS oil reserves to hold us up for, hmmmm, about a century. My family is in the oil business, trust me, even if we cut ties of ALL oil imports, we will be good for a significant while as I said. The best part, what is foreign entity is going to do about it. We have the strongest navy on both the Pacific and Atlantic. Plus, two bprders countries that we can exterminate in a about a week max.

    2. Nicaragua is not building a canal. This is fake. This was a potentially true news thing 12 years ago. But the canal project was permanently killed off when Panama beat them to the punch and all interested parties backed out and shut down the project and dissolved the businesses with the rights to approach it. In Nicaragua, no talk of this project, and no project, exists in any way.

    3. You might want to spend some time on the Mississippi River and watch the amount of barge traffic there before running your uninformed mouth off about the lack of ship traffic there, apples and oranges.

    4. This presentation would have been a whole lot better without all the snarky comments and lame humor. This is an important subject. Treat it accordingly.

    5. The fact that Peter Zeihan refers to – that the waterways of North America are greater than the rest of the world combined – can be found in Tim Marshall's book "Prisoners of Geography", the chapter on USA.

    6. The climate catastrophe is a lie to gain government control over everything. Can you remember hitler ? Well clouse hasn’t put anyone in gas chambers yet but you wait till there is mass revolt against starvation and further lockdowns. The Antarctic has gained ice cover and some people don’t understand about malankavich cycles.

    7. Interesting thing to look into- some experts believe china is fudging its numbers constantly. This makes sense since the way the central government gets its numbers is from the provincial who gets them from the local governments. Since advancement in the one party system is the only goal that matters, theres a huge incentive to inflate your numbers to make them look good. And no external audits by impartial observers or open data.

Some experts have suggested China is already down to close to a billion people flat, and a study of nighttime light visible from space, which has accurately predicted the GDPs of most other nations, says they may be exaggerating their economy heavily and its only 60% of what they say.

    8. Obviously hoser has never seen the Mississippi or tributaries because those rivers are full of tugboats moving millions of tons. It is also completely impractical to use huge ships in these rivers because every bridge, dam, and lock would have to be rebuilt

    9. from the Rio to the coasts of WDC. It'll take 10 to 15 yrs to build and 2 trillion dollars BUT so much good and much more money will come of it

    10. Arctic hasn't melted yet. Also despite UN IPCC pronouncements that it would be clear by now the ice this summer is 3 meters thicker than last year at the end of June. So not this year.
No Chinese corporation is free of the government and only fools or liars think so.

    11. They are building a improved canal. Which will take business from panama.
It was not an american idea dummy. It was french idea.

    12. For your information there are 3 Panama Canals. The originag plus another the same size, plus the SuperMax Canal that is twice as wide and 50% deeper than the other two completed in 2022. As for transit. It is manditory ships stay 3 days in Panama and all but the Captain take 3 days shore leave. But a big problem is that Lake Gatun is not getting enough water to operate the locks at 100% and it is causing delays of as much as two weeks.

Not much likelihood of the Nicaragua Grande Canal. It would violate treaty with Costa Rica to dredge the San Juan River. San Juan River belongs to Costa Rica, but Nicaragua has the right of use, but cannot alter it. Meaning no dredging. Also Nicaragua has Russian Military present. So again a hard sell. Lastly the people of Nicaragua are opposed as it would be an ecological disaster, destroyung Lake Nicaragua and Lake Managua.

Colombia has an overland Canal. Between the Pacific and Atlantic cargo goes by rail and reloaded to ships. Mexico also has an overland Canal, but most simply goes to the US from Pacific and Atlantic ports.

    13. Just because you want to get your ear buds and cell phone quicker and cheaper from China doesn't constitute the need to destroy our intrastate shipping and give access to the interior of our country by foreign countries. There is a big difference between foreign shipping within the heart of our country and the baron earth between Nova Scotia or the Gulf of Saint Lawrence and Quebec City.
