The Algorand network is powered by its own native currency, the ALGO coin. ALGO is used to pay for transaction fees on the network, and is the form of payment for rewards. Holding ALGO also gives each user a chance to participate in network consensus which is done secretly.

Look what they're doing to XRP. if XRP is a security guess what, they're all gonna be securities and the only way you'll be able to invest in these technologies is to be an accredited investor. algo has only been up and running for 4 years, needs to last many more years without fail before banks and countries adopt it, will be big for sure but I believe in the long term
