I think it makes sense to have Paypal's base asset on ethereum, they probably intend to do all their transactions on an eth layer 2 with eth really only as the settlement layer

It's fine not leaving stuff on exchanges if you have enough money to afford the gas fees, but if you're only working with a few $100 here and there, the gas fees are too high. It eats up all your money moving stuff around. Suppose you buy $200 worth of something. What are you gonna do? Spend 20 or $30 to send it to a cold storage. And then another 20 or $30 to send it back to the exchange if you wanna sell it. It's not feasible unless you're working with thousands of dollars, Then you can afford a 20 or $30 fee.
FYI that guy "smarter than the rest of us" HAS GOT TO BE EXTERMINATED! I also believe that guy is or is closely in league with Spam fuckman-fuckerfried AND one of them is Satoshi Nokimoto or SNs arch nemesis. It will all make one HELL of a movie trilogy one day… JUST KEEP YOUR ETHEREAL non entity assets on your assumed safe Trezors, or other non ledger devices. CWs with no buttholes (back doors man!). You don't want tech genius 21st century version of Jim Morrison being your "backdoor man" as it concerns yiur digital massless assetts that may or may not actually exists. Even though it's never going to have the roi it once did BTC is still the best option. Always have more of that than anything else… at least from a value added perspective. And use multiple wallets. Not just one. Your know… "never keep all your eggs in one basket"
