The UK Government has a target of 2050 and many other Councils have made similar commitments. However, one of the main sources of emissions is the use of gas mostly for heating and hot water. Unless there is a plan to replace gas as an energy source it will be impossible for local authorities or the Government to achieve their targets.
Out of Gas is a project that involves developing a constantly evolving plan setting out the actions, costs and obstacles to end the use of gas in the UK. Our aim is to create a template that can be taken up by other communities and organisations working to combat climate change everywhere.
