The suez canal of Egypt is very important sea route of the world. It saves travel time around Africa and shortens the path by 9000 km or 10 days. That is why, 30% of container ships of the world travel through this route.
But when this canal was being built, british people were against it because of French domination. later, Britain and France jointly held the ownership of Suez canal until it was nationalized by Egypt, starting a Suez crisis in which Britain, France and israel attacked Egypt. By the mediation of United Nations, the war was stopped.
