To me it's crystal clear. Whatever side of any conflict around the world that from the very start of hostilities specifically target women, Children and the elderly. These are the Bad guys… If you take hostages and use them as pawns. You are the bad guys. What happens after the war starts is Kaos especially if you place your weapons and soldiers amongst the civilian population and near schools and hospitals. This also makes you the bad guy. I would be against any group or country that did these things even the U.S.
