Nato has promised a ‘determined’ response if damage to an undersea gas pipeline between Finland and Estonia proves deliberate, as investigators said traces of an ‘external, mechanical force’ had been found on the seabed.
Finnish authorities announced on Tuesday a sudden fall in pressure in the pipeline on Sunday – just over a year after a series of underwater blasts burst three of the four pipelines that make up Nord Stream 1 and Nord Stream 2, a major conduit for Russian fossil gas exports to western Europe, spewing gas into the Baltic Sea.
Amid widespread media speculation about the likelihood of Russian sabotage, Finnish prime minister Petteri Orpo said Finland had launched an investigation and damage to the pipeline was likely the result of ‘external activity’

If this is an act by Russia intended to weaken the resilience of Estonia, it could potentially be a sign of a pre-meditated attack on the northernmost Baltic State. With the conflict evolving in Israel and Palestine and the US House of Representatives rendered ineffective with their lack of a Speaker, and an increasingly waning of support for Ukraine Putin could be seeing this as a window of opportunity, Especially as the pace of munitions manufacture is said to be unable to keep up. Estonia is also the smallest of the Baltic States. There is also the Armenian shift towards the west and an ever stronger US influence in that country. All things that will likely infuriate, motivate and encourage a despot like Putin.
Remember NATO has sensors in the seas they already know the answer they are merely stalling time as they figure out a resolution.

What this sounds like is espionage attempting to add fuel to the fire that will soon become WWIII if cooler heads do not take charge. It happened, but what is the true motivation. The US tried to blame the sabotage of Nordsteam 1 on the Russians when it was the US. Is this also the US trying to encourage NATO members to join the war the US government is so pushing for? (no, I'm not Russian, I'm from the US myself.)
