The Nimitz-class nuclear-powered aircraft carrier USS Dwight D. Eisenhower (CVN 69) transits the Suez Canal, November 7. Dwight D. Eisenhower (IKE) is the flagship of the Dwight D. Eisenhower Carrier Strike Group (IKECSG), an integrated combat weapon system ready to respond to a wide range of contingencies in support of national security priorities. IKECSG is deployed to the US 5th Fleet area of operations to help ensure maritime security and stability in the Middle East region.
