I hope Panamanians do exactly what former colonies in Africa are doing. Nationalize Resources, seize the mines and equipment and operate themselves. Don't export raw resources period.
The destruction of the land and watershed is huge on this one. Government corruption another. These people had the worst quarantine for COVID I have ever seen anywhere. These people are sick and tired and HATE the President that has little time left in his term. Lots of beefs going on here. innocent people killed added fuel to the fire.
PLEASE…don't forget who built that canal after France's failure.. USA Panama was indebted for this big time. Now they have a money maker 100% theirs. Its a win/win.
Canadian mining companies are notorious for their unethical tactics, even to the point of being accused of having protestors killed. Guatamala comes to mind. They undermine the countries sovereignty by using the Investor-State Dispute Settlement tribunal by launching a very expensive lawsuit against the country if they don't get what they want.
