The G20 has broadly endorsed a roadmap for dealing with crypto assets, with provisions for tailor made measures to mitigate specific risks to emerging markets and developing economies, union finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman shared during the virtual summit of G20 leaders. She indicated that regulating crypto assets isa work in progress which will spill over to the Brazilian G20 Presidency that starts from December. “No time frame has been set yet for adopting the roadmap.” she added. The roadmap on cryptocurrency is in sync with the paper that synthesized separate recommendations by the IMF, and FSB to co-ordinate measures to stop crypto assets from undermining macro economic and financial stability.
