Is Coinbase A Bitcoin Black Hole?

In this video, I discuss whether there are existential risks to Bitcoin caused by Coinbase being the largest custodian for Bitcoin spot ETF issuers.

I conclude that there are not, and that Bitcoin will continue to be moved around over time. BlackRock will probably switch to a big bank as custodian at some point for its ETF, and the big tech companies will also seek to get in on the action.

Also, because Bitcoin is proof of work, owning more coins does not give you more control over the protocol, unlike proof of stake.

  1. WARNING: There are a number of scammers who are using my image and
channel name to try to connect with my viewers on WhatsApp and other
platforms to scam them. Just so you know, I will never refer you to
"my personal trader" or try to connect with you personally to sell you
something. I am trying to ban these scammers as quickly as they pop up. You can
always recognize a scammer by clicking on the image and seeing how
many videos he has. All of these guys have zero videos, while I have
hundreds. I also now have a checkmark next to my name, so that you can distinguish the real Bitcoin University from the imposters. Follow me on Twitter @mattkratter

  2. Exciting times ahead for Bitcoin! With the potential approval of a Bitcoin ETF by the SEC, we could see a broader audience diving into crypto investments. Given its resilience and key support levels, especially the 41k mark, Bitcoin's future looks promising. Don't miss out on this financial wave. I've personally benefited from following Craig Reeder's trading tactics, amassing 22 bitcoins in a short two-month period, which speaks volumes about his expertise.

  3. Matthew, if you had a lot of money in retirement accounts (which can't buy real bitcoin directly), what bitcoin proxy would you select? I think a lot of people with retirement accounts want to know this and it could make a good video.

  4. Love the videos Mathew but dude you gotta stop with all these deformed, mutilated thumbnail pics. You did one if Roger ver with a ballon face. Gross. Keep it plesent
