Russian President Vladimir Putin on Thursday praised his U.S. counterpart, President Donald Trump, for his role in stabilizing global oil markets.
“We worked together—and rather effectively – on stabilization of the oil markets,” he said. “I know that President Trump – we were personally involved in negotiations with the King of Saudi Arabia on this issue – Trump participated actively and rather efficiently in the process.”
Putin made the comments at an investment forum in Russia, where he also criticized the U.S. administration for sanctioning Russia 46 times.
Trump and his opponent, former vice-president and Democratic presidential hopeful Joe Biden, will square off in the U.S. Presidential election on Nov. 3.
