Australian Gold and Copper launches drilling to follow-up Achilles gold and silver discovery

Australian Gold and Copper Ltd (ASX:AGC) managing director, Glen Diemar sits down with Proactive’s Jonathan Jackson to talk about significant mineralisation at Achilles and maiden drilling at Hilltop within the southern Cobar Basin, NSW. These results mark the first substantial mineralisation found in the Ural Volcanics in the area, supporting AGC’s exploration strategy.

The discovery at Achilles, particularly notable for high-grade gold and silver, has prompted an immediate follow-up drilling program of up to 10 holes. Diemar highlights the exceptional gold and silver results at Achilles, noting the consistent widths over a substantial distance as a major value addition to AGC’s portfolio.

The optimism extends to other targets at Achilles, which exhibit similar geological characteristics, presenting a promising opportunity for the company’s shareholders and stakeholders.

AGC is drawing on the region’s rich mining history and the resemblances between the new discoveries and other notable mineral deposits in the area, such as the Federation Deposit discovered by Aurelia Metals in 2019. The distinct IP chargeability features, broad alteration zones and strong pathfinder signatures, including very high silver grades, suggest parallels with known deposits at the Hera Mine and the Pearse and Parkers Hill deposits at the Mineral Hill Mine.
AGC is confident about the potential of these prospects, with ongoing exploration expected to further delineate and possibly expand the mineralisation zones identified.
