the road visiting one of my favorite
crypto YouTubers the veteran Miner and
we’re checking out how and where he
makes his veteran cables let’s go if you
didn’t know the veteran Miner makes

today his cables are over engineered for
any crypto mining project with all that
being said let’s check out the veteran
miners

the invite and I’m really excited to see
how you make these custom some cables
well let me show you for everyone out
there my name is the veteran Miner I
make custom crypto mining cables here in
the United States today I’m going to
give you a tour of my shop and then I’m
going to show you how I make a custom
cable for a KS Z Pro Caspa Miner and
then we’re going to give it away hey
guys so here’s a tour of the shop here
on this side we have sleeving here this
sleeving is halfin sleeving that we use
for a number amount of cables that we
make we also have the individually
sleeving
right here for KS Z cables and you can
see over here there’s some more sleeving
all different types of colors we have a
new website coming soon you’re going to
see every single color that you have
available here is going to be on a new
website as well here is where I stream
for my members on YouTube during the day
at my shop so that’s pretty cool so we
walk over here we have a bunch of heat
shrink that we use for various projects
as you can see and then we have a whole
bunch of connectors over here
this is where we use various connectors
for various uh types of cables that we
make and here is the crimp machine right
here
Molex right there you can see
it that’s pretty cool that does a lot of
work let’s get into the warehouse okay
so welcome to the warehouse this is a
wire and stripper machine here this is
where we cut all the wires and strip all
the wires right here the machine does
all the work and then here’s the test
bench here we test a lot of the cables
here every single cable that comes out
of the veteran minor gets tested that’s
key we test every cable you will not
have a Dead on Arrival cable ever
because I test every single cable and I
take quiet into that this is the
soldering station it’s kind of two
tables here but this is the main part of
the soldering station here pretty cool
we have lights all over the place
because you got to see when it comes to
soldering so we have a whole bunch of
equipment here this is a soldering pot
right here that comes as a lifesaver
when you’re doing multiple cables all
day long it’s for the ks zero cables
here as we get on the other side of the
warehouse here’s some sleeving here all
different shapes colors sizes it’s crazy
so if I don’t have a color I should be
able to get you a size and the right
color if you’re looking for something
specific we have heat shrink here for
any crypto mining project that you need
pretty cool all different shapes colors
sizes you name it we also have SATA
cables pretty pretty cool about the SATA
cables we have green red white blue
silver and you can see the bins here we
have a lot of SATA cables we’ll have
that on a new website as well coming
soon that’s pretty much the tour of the
shop guys we’re expanding soon until
then let’s make this
cable all right guys so this is the
beginning of the process here this is a
spool of cable in here that we start off
it’s 16 gauge 10 copper cable what that
means it’s 16 gauge it’s rated because
this cable is made and manufactured in
the United States they do special
testing they put fire underneath the
cable to rate the casing for durability
ility and ratings with that being said
here is the stripper and cutter machine
we already have the parameters set we’re
going to press the button here and the
cables are going to come out to make the
k z Pro cable so let’s do
that now that’s done what we can do is
show you here this is where it’s going
to get stamped
and on the other side where I’m going to
solder the two ends to prep the cable
for sleeving and the next
step all right guys this is the next
step we’re going to end these two ends
like I was explaining because later on
we’re going to solder it on this here so
we’ll end this as well so here we
go perfect and then we’re going to
solder this too
later on we’ll get back to this stage
here and you’ll understand why I tin
this as well so here we’re at the
sleeving stage right now you can see all
the different types of colors here today
we’re going to pick carbon fiber look
this is the carbon fiber look I’m going
to cut it to size and then we’re going
to sleeve it onto the cables that I just
soldered on so let’s take a look at that
you’re going to see my backside for a
second so uh let’s do
it now that they cut to length we’re
going to sleeve them up on the other
bench okay so this is another stage here
what we’re going to do here is we’re
going to sleeve the cables and then
we’re going to crimp them use these
crimps right here and then put the pin
on and we’ll be good to go
okay let’s go to the crimping machine
and crimp the pins on
perfect crimp you can tell right here
and how it overlaps and let’s pin
it next stage is going to build a piece
of heat shrink right
here perfect now we’re going to mark it
because we need to know which one’s
positive and which one’s negative when
we do the soldering so we’ll take a
little Sharpie right here give it a
quick little
Mark and now we’ll go over to the
soldering station and finish it up okay
now that we’re back at the soldering
station we’re going to put this Barrel
connector on here so let’s do that
really quick
okay we’re going to turn it around and
we’re going to use this Barrel that we
already put tin on
it it’s going to be the ground here
that’s marked as you can see right there
so let’s solder this
on okay
that’s perfect now we need to crimp
it nice tight crimp and I also take
another set of pliers here to push it in
and make sure we are really really good
to go now we’re going to take the
positive and we’re going to solder that
on
this is the reason why I pre-tin them as
well it makes a perfect solder
connection next we’re going to use the
soldering hot solder
iron here is the heat gun
and now we’re at the final stage we’re
going to go back to where we did the
sleeving and finish this up right guys
so we’re at the second to final stage to
uh make this cable right here right so
as you can see this is a ger it’s a
multitool well I made it into a a triple
multi-tool I put heat shrink here so I
could hold the barrel connectors and not
ruin the barrel connectors check this
out it holds it perfectly and then we
could just spin this right on
and the barrel connector never loses it
Integrity there you go so we have that
now we’re going
to do the heat shrink here do the heat
shrink there and that’s going to
finalize the cable let me show you how
that works all right so here you go we
got to
carefully shrink the heat shrink on
right
here I’m going to keep this in one hand
right
here and we’re almost
done slide that
on it’s pretty satisfying what I use a
heat
satisfying and that’s it we’re going to
test it and I’ll show you guys how I
test it all right guys Here’s the final
stage I’m going to show you what I do
for the final testing so this is a
multimeter continuity tester so I’ll
explain a little bit if it beeps this is
on black that would be ground if you get
a beep on here we got a problem that
means that both of the cables are
touching somewhere in this Barrel
connector so we test this here that’s
good to go and then this is the positive
the positive is in the inside we got
that and nothing we have a perfect cable
so what we do is we just take this here
I’ll get packaging right
here we’ll wrap it
up and put it in the
packaging like
so you’ll get a
sticker and all shipped
out so I just wanted to sit down with
the veteran Miner real quick and just
ask them a couple questions that I
pretty much ask everyone that’s involved
with crypto so the first thing thing
when did you get into crypto and why
well I got into crypto in
2019 I saw something pop up on my cell
phone probably like a lot of people and
said Bitcoin or you can get Bitcoin by
mining it and I was like what is that so
you can use a graphics card or a
computer so believe it or not I used a
Mac computer and I was CPU mining
Bitcoin it was on nice has okay so it’s
it’s a funny story because I was trying
to see if it was uh tangible or not you
know I thought it was all a joke or a
hoax so I’m mining it and I think I got
like a penny after a week or something
like that it was like on the CPU it
wasn’t the the the Mac computer was just
like really cheap and I’m like okay well
let me cash it out let me see I get that
Penny but you need a minimum you know uh
for it to work but I was like this is
really cool and intriguing that you can
mine this Bitcoin
and through nice has so then I started
buying a couple of graphics cards
started with 1660s 1660 supers and I
this is 2019 2019 2020 and I was like
okay so I’m getting cables from a it was
a cheap power supply and I’m looking at
the cables and I’m like wow okay so I’m
plugging them in and now I’m mining on
nice hash right so I’m mining on nice
hash and I’m like so you started right
on crypto mining you didn’t buy any
crypto or anything like that you said
hey I can plug in something or
hypothetically use my computer and start
making crypto cash it out and mind blown
pretty much right okay so then you
started GPU mining yes G straight GPU
mining U ethereum or nice has I was
doing nice hash so uh straight to
bitcoin straight to bitcoin so it was I
was very focused on bitcoin didn’t know
anything else I just knew Bitcoin
nothing’s WR with that yeah so uh yeah
and uh it was working and I did my first
cash out to my bank account and I’m like
it’s tangible now mm I was like I want
to I want to like you know I know the
word huddle now right but I didn’t know
the word in the beginning but I was like
I want to save it you would say I want
to save this though I want to see what’s
happening with it if I save it so I
cashed out I was like it’s tangible I
know I can cash out that’s it so I
already did my test yes so just started
expanding from there okay so what was
the first mining rig you built I did a I
bought a cheap mining frame mhm from
Amazon yep and I put uh a couple of
1660s on there and in the beginning
after I did that I was looking at CPU
mining yeah so I bought a whole bunch of
motherboards for CPU mining I had you
know the CPUs for CPU Mining and so
forth the AMD boards and I was using
those boards still mining the nice has
nice has yes I never did CPU mining I
just went straight to GPU mining okay
you know on nice has and uh I built a
three c car rig and it was Flawless
after I did like four it was started
getting a little sketchy it wasn’t
working and I’m like oh I don’t know
what to do and then of course like all
of us when we first start out we go on
YouTube and we start looking at
YouTubers what do they doing and all of
a sudden ethereum and all this other
stuff and I’m almost like oh my God what
am I going to do
and then I got into I got into it pretty
heavily okay now is that about the time
you started making YouTube videos as
well when when did you get into that so
I started seeing the
cables that were provided with the power
supplies and you start seeing these
videos from these big YouTubers like oh
this burned up that burned up and I have
1660s now right they’re not that
expensive GPU to me though it’s an
investment so I have an investment $500
$300 didn’t matter to me that’s an
investment that why would I want a cheap
$2 or $5 cable that’s going to burn up
on you know for my investment so and you
have don’t mean to cut you off but you
have a background in in cables and
electrical somewhat too yes I used to
work for a box Corporation and
engineering department as well as I used
to do uh cabling from start to finish
the Molex cabling actually start to
finish and firefighter trucks uh cop
cars and so forth so that’s my that’s my
background so so I had a little bit of
background I started making the cables
by hand and I did individually s cables
by hand and I did a video how to and
that’s how I started out with the
YouTube you the crypto YouTube channel
how to make your own crypto mining
cables that are worthwhile basically so
I was able to get you know 16 gauge
cable 10 copper you know the right uh
ratings the right testing for the cable
and then from there I started buying
machines and now we are the veteran
minor so that’s what got you into this
business so you came across an app or
something like that scrolling on your
phone you SE something about hey you can
mine Bitcoin or whatever you tried that
out you seen that it was tangible that
you can cash it out that you can make
some money from doing this yeah started
building crypto mining Rigs and then
said hey These cabl suck I could make my
own started making your own and then
that birth this business business yes
and so how long have you had this
business two years now two years two
years all right and you have plans to
expand soon yeah I’m looking to expand
we are at the seams right now in in in
this place bust at the seams busted at
the seams um next door is’s availability
and I’m probably going to get into Ace
we repair as well yeah nice nice so
we’re uh I’m I’m a oneman show and uh
expanding is good because that means
business is good business is is good
like to hear it yeah and um where can we
