ukpai and we will break down and analyze
every pick made for you guys who are the
Dolphins going to be going with that 21
hell who’s going to be on the board come
21 plus the really interesting question
is is Jaden Daniels or Drake May going
to be the second quarterback off the
board

ball game um I see people in the chat
already like oh we don’t want no rants
tonight well I’m going to tell you this
one thing if they take Xavier worthy at
21 get for ready I know me and ball game
are at least gonna give you a rant when
Martin shows up we’ll ask him but get
ready for it if that goes down um how
you feel ball game we tal we talked a
little bit before I know you’re like you
know I’m as excited as it could be but I
said something I said hey we take Cooper
deine that maybe that’ll get your blood
pumping a little bit at 21 huh I’m
thinking you know across I there’s a lot
of different possibilities but I think
across the board man you got to finish
the process of filling your needs first
and then you can go through and um
exercise um luxury picks and things of
that nature I mean we don’t have many
but quality you know I’m saying quality
is always going to be at the Forefront
at this place where we’re picking in
terms of how I’m seeing it and we have a
we have a need for a u a playmaker in
our secondary um I think the offensive
line line with the two leaders of our um
o line coach can be just fine those guys
play admirably last year under his first
year um you know putting them together
and now that Jackson is finally coming
to his man you know what I’m saying
coming to being a beast at his position
and arm stick if he can give us two more
games plus what he did last year and
sustain some things I think we’ll be
fine getting Isaiah win back um is also
a plus so I don’t necessarily I would I
wouldn’t scoff at line but I think we we
have a bigger need right now on the
defensive side of the ball at that um
strong safety position right cuz we
talked about it previously before that
you know Holland’s gonna be up for a
contract and if they can’t do they can’t
get something that makes sense for him
he will walk I mean the agents the
agents that he um agency that he works
with they’re notoriously they’re the
same ones that Christian Wilkins has and
you know I just don’t know if um things
work out in our favor that way but you
at least have a Safety Net in place and
at this point um this team is extremely
talented there’s a lot of different
options of uh kids that we can go with
but I think need is going to be
um primary here for this first pick and
then from there the second round you can
go get something that you want because
there’s still a lot of talent out there
and a lot of the guys there’s only a
handful of guys I believe you know what
I’m saying that are gonna be day one
guys that are going to go out and
contribute right away and anything of
that nature so we need somebody that can
do that now cuz po like we discussed
earlier is on a one-year deal and after
him is Elijah Campbell so the soon we
can get a star studed player in there to
feel that that strong safety role um
yeah the better off we’ll be and they
can learn together and grow together and
if gri can pull off the the needed
contracts then this team will be set for
quite some time with a lot of Youth and
a lot of guys that are really going to
have huge huge upsides to them so that’s
why I say you know it’s kind of hard to
get too excited because I know that that
need is there over the wants yeah you
know when we were in a window where we
gotta got we got to get a guy that can
contribute early you know so um they
brought in a lot of bodies for that D
line so um I I i’ I’d go secondary over
any position right now at this point
so oh wow you’d go you’d go secondary
over every position yeah
that’s a that’s a bold take I like
it starting off early I like it I like
it um so let me ask you this because you
know you you’re kind of saying something
that’s a sentiment shared by a lot of
dolphin fans talking about how we kind
of need like an impact guy day
one so does that mean you’re out on a
guy
like amarius Mims who you know he’s
obviously could be our starting bookend
tackle for the next 10 years but for
year one you know 68 340 not really you
know doesn’t really project well inside
to guard so he’d probably only play
seven or eight games given how many arm
sets is going to miss this year would
that be something you’re not interested
in at a
21 well I think I I think that this it’s
just important to recognize how
important this pick is for us and where
we are in terms of progressions towards
the ultimate height of taking off you
know knocking off Kansas City becoming a
perennial fixture you know what I’m
saying the AFC East championship game
and winning a Super Bowl and yeah a kid
like Mims isn’t going to give you like
you you gonna get productivity from the
guys that you already have they’re
veterans they’re Savvy they understand
he’s gonna sit behind somebody and I
just don’t believe that he’ll come in
right away and give you enough to push
you over the top like I think I get what
you’re saying the coaching
itself um Barry did an amazing job this
offensive line and I’m I’m extremely
excited to see how much further he can
push this group together as they grow
and um I believe that they’ll reach a
new height this year as well so for me
again the position has to be something
that we can use right now a kid that’s
gonna come in and play right away
there’ll be no him sitting behind
somebody or playing out of position I
and those are all good things that we
could do but I think right now the
Dolphins don’t have the luxury of
waiting on a guy to contribute we need
contributions right away to push us and
Propel us to be able to challenge Kansas
City and you know and the other teams
that are perennial um playoff fixtures
so we can win the games we need to win
and get to the Super Bowl because that’s
what it matters you know and um whatever
kid they take has to have high IQ
ability to learn on the Fly already have
some Superior play recognition and
understanding and I think the the the
one place that um projects the best for
us in terms of the biggest ho that we
have is a guy that you know we talked
about him Cooper man I think he just
fits supremely well for us at 62 210
pounds he’s a Swiss army knife and I
know people ain’t GNA like it it’s not
sexy but it’s a necessity and at this
point the Dolphins got to feel positions
of need over over want and you know and
when and if they do that then that
showes up you know you’re not putting a
you know it’s no longer a Band-Aid in
you went in and you actually performed
the surgery and you fix the issue right
so if there’s another leak that Springs
up somewhere else you know it’s at least
not that one and that’s the most
glaring you know that’s the most glaring
issue you have right now as as the way
the roster sits is that that strong
safety spot puyer is a perfect guy to
have a guy come in like him and learn
from him and then transition off puer
and they split time and you can do
amazing matchup things with that young
kid and get his experience up and then
towards the end of the season as we get
deeper into the Run he takes over and
then he does um admirably back there
matched off with Javan Holland so it’s a
perfect it’s man I think it’s a perfect
scenario for us it’s a tough space to be
in it but um I know people going to want
something different but like we got a
lot of speed at wide receiver they
brought in jnu Smith to show up the
tight end position um grabbing another
receiver would be a good idea but I
don’t think we need one in the first I
think we got to just take the position
of need and then go grab another toy for
uh Tua and and let the others you know
be BPA so that that would be the other
thing about Cooper dein too is with how
Co who played last year he gives you
another nickel option option yep right
so and that that was you know sometimes
was a was a glaring weakness for us last
year in certain situations so see here’s
here’s the thing right so we we have we
are Smackdown right now in what is
considered to be the passing era of the
NFL teams still run the Ball but and
when they get down and things you know
and the gamees shift teams are
automatically going to go to passing the
ball more and what most teams don’t
possess most teams might have be they
have one lock down guy and they have a
you know they have a bunch of other so
so guys the Dolphins have still today
arguably the best cornerback in the game
on their roster they have one of the
best young free safeties on the roster
they have one of the top five inside
slot guys in k caho right and then
they’ve got young guy cam Smith who they
brought in to compete and went through
reps with Fuller on the outside and
Fuller had one of the best um pass
rating percentages in terms of um taking
taking taking taking um receivers out of
the game for um the opposing
quarterbacks than any any real any other
cornerback had in the last couple years
you see what I’m saying so the guy still
going to be able to come in and teach
cam something and you still going to get
quality rep from him the only place we
missing to be able to lock up and then
be able to go five wide if team want to
go five wide and man up across the board
is that strong safety spot and then and
puer can do it but he’s only here for
one year then what do you do after him
hope and pray that some kid shows up the
next year’s draft why why wait when you
can get what you need
now get it done and over with and then
you move on from it because the draft is
really and truthfully all intended about
filling your needs not your wants wants
come later but if you have a need feel
that need that guy sitting there you
take him so that that’s one less thing
you have to worry about and you can stop
the bleeding in that place because I
guarantee we get down in the season we
get three four games in and then po
something happens to p and you gotta
rely on you gota rely on Elijah Campbell
then people gonna be upset oh well we
should have took a safety why they
didn’t address that well this is the
opportunity to address it right now get
it over with and be done with it and I
don’t care to me the kid looks like
Jason seahorn Jason Sehorn for the New
York Giants was hell of a he was a hell
of a DB another guy I wouldn’t be mad at
if he was still around on day two would
be I don’t think he will be but if Tyler
nuben was still around if I’d be listen
I’m gonna tell you this much let’s say
they take a weapon or an offensive
lineman at 21 I’d be fine in moving up
from 55 to go get Tyler nubin into the
30s he’s the next he’s the next safeties
with those instincts my God you know
what I mean guy up for sure yeah I think
but I I mean I’m going to be honest with
you I’m going to say this and people can
feel how they want to feel about it but
I’ve heard people talking about it and I
think it’s just utter bull b guess to be
honest with you I don’t care what color
um Cooper’s um skin is I watch the tape
that take that kid can play I don’t care
about anything else other than the fact
that instinctually read reaction
alignment of assignment separation
separating receivers from the ball
willing to stick his nose into the Run
game that kid does it all I don’t care
about to color his skin that boy is a he
is a football player yeah I agree hands
down he is a football player so to color
his skin don’t mean nothing to me but
people talk about it they don’t say it
on camera but I’ve had other
conversations with people they oh know
man you know I know white cor back I

know the testing and everything like
that line up like because yeah I don’t
want to get caught in that because to me
I’ve been saying Xavier worthy has to be
an outlier because 165 pounds I mean you
know you you’ve Ted Corners BR what are
you what are you g to tell these guys
Jam them at the jam him at the line look
at I tell people look at what sne did to
Ty who’s 191 lbs and built like a brick
you know what and he’s putting them on
his ass and then and then they come to
you ball game they come to you oh Coach
man it’s not as about his release
package he’s just so quick off the line
what are you gonna say all right give
him a little bit of a cushion get some
hands on him reroute him and throw the
timing off exactly in a time in such a
timing based offense you cannot afford
guys to be rerouted and you cannot
afford that at all man so he needs to be
an outlier like I don’t want people oh
Devonte Smith was 170 175 Devonte Smith
had War length to his frame had way sure
hands right because Xavier W’s got drop
issues and Devonte Smith was one of the
best route Runners we had seen come out
in a couple years what are we talking
about he still is one of the best like
he’s just more polished at the
position than where Xavier Worthy is so
I I don’t even like that
comparison I think it comes down to
people just get over the top so drawn in
to these Combine results and looking at
the raw numbers that they don’t they
don’t understand that there’s guys that
are in the NFL that are able to
translate speed going backwards and
still be able to get power Y and power
and strength right at the line of
scrimmage in that first initial Jam
that’s going to take away that mean
essentially as small as he is if the guy
if if all all your DB has to do is get
half of him that’s rerouting and that’s
basically starting over and you
basically nullified that speed they the
team that takes him going to have to
they going to have to reroute him to
push him put him in motion they’re going
to do all these unique things to be able
to not have him stand at the line of
screamers and get at the NFL level and
get yeah completely obliterated yeah I
just you know and then you can’t use him
on the boundary at that size he just has
a slaughter a gadget guy and it’s like
we want a bigger guy who’s fast so we
can Flex Tyreek and Wadd around you know
what I mean

then Xavier
worthy so he has Xavier worthy actually
has a 32 his 32 ranked player because he
got numbers next to them as
well so which lines up I had Xavier
worthy going 32 to the uh jeese yeah um
and another team I’ve heard is really in
on Brock Bowers and trying to move up
for him is the
Colts that could work I’ve heard the
Colts are very interested in Xavier
worthy at 15 as well way too rich too
high yeah too high I’m sorry I listen
people are gonna kill and it maybe it
comes back and bites me in the ass I had
Xavier worthy as my wide receiver wide
receiver 12 re reason it’ll it’ll be

was unguardable in college exactly but

other receivers they took in the first
round Johnny Morton W fast you can go
back as far as they don’t have any
burners they had they had skill guys
guys that I’m not thinking about tutu
Gavin I’m trying to remember who it was
I used it in an argument and I was like
yo it didn’t work out for this guy yeah

team wrong yeah
M regardless Xavier worthy I think he’s
no pun attender worthy of a day two pick
for sure yeah I’ll be fine sure but day
one that’s that’s that’s that that’s
that’s that’s embarrassing man that
that’s bad scouting If he if he gets
drafted in the first round and that’s
nothing against Xavier wor nothing
against somebody do it that’s that’s
speed
deficient they don’t have any nobody
don’t make that the only
and and and ball game the only time you
would want to draft a player that has
that type of uh game changing speed is
if your offense is predicated on on that
type of player to open up everything
else underneath so the quarterback can
really cook but other than that you
never overdraft like that man ever you
know I’m like trying to find out who it
was now because I know I found the
threat right I’m pretty sure
it was Charles Rogers really at
44 didn’t char Charles Charles I think I
think I think Charles Rogers was
overdrafted but I don’t know if he ran
like a 42 he ran a he had a four if you
remember he ran a 428 at one
point oh wow okay that is a little fat
that is fat if you look at go look it up
Rogers had recorded a time of a 428 for
the 20 2003 draft because he used to be
AER he used to be
AER I still wouldn’t have drafted him
over Andre Johnson out of Miami and
that’s no bias you know coming from the
University I knew it was Charles Rogers
I knew it yeah you gotta look into it
though you got to look it up he I don’t
know whether was his pro day or whatever
but he did run a 428 before the draft
and that’s why they took him at two I
would I would have never drafted him
over Andre Johnson no like that point in
time Andre Johnson’s quarterback Charles
Rogers fan you
know um I I just got to get through
these uh Deontay says hey fellas after
all the injuries we had last year how
are y’all feeling about the floor of the
roster give give your thoughts
guys the floor I think I think one of
the well I think one of the major holes
that we had was a lack of guys that
actually would was suited for the
Special Teams roles that were they
and I you know if you look at what they
did over this free agency they went out
and actually grabbed guys that excelled
on in in their previous locations at
special teams and you know to be honest
with you that those jobs are the jobs
that aren’t you know what I’m saying
sought after but when you got guys that
are committed to them and they’ve done
it successfully over and over and over
again year after year those are the type
of people you need to cover to build up
your special team we were strong um
defensively at times and we were even
stronger at times uh offensively but our
our sub special teams was sub part so
the bottom of the what you say the floor
the floor now at this point for me um I
don’t think I don’t think I don’t think
it’s the same as it was I think because
like I said they brought in quality guys
that know exactly what it is that they
were supposed to do I think that the
leadership for that special teams
section still needs some still needs to
be looked at but you know you can have
guys that know what the hell going on
and sometimes they can guide the
leadership a little bit too to see new
and different things and you know help
him not be so pigeon ho so um floor U I
don’t know what is he what what is he
what what is he really looking for with
that answer because well I think he’s
just saying how yall feeling about the
floor of the roster like how you feeling
like the bottom of the roster how you
feeling about
yeah well here’s the thing any roster
can always be improved upon but I think
that I I I give Chris Greer you know um
a lot of Grace and a lot of AD boys for
his willingness to go out and and and
and bring in bodies to throw at
positions to see you know what I’m
saying and it’s not like he’s just
picking up some [ __ ] and just throwing
it to the wall these are guys that have
actually contributed and like I said
contributed they did amazing jobs at at
the other spaces where they were at and
then I see people talking about oh well
if they were that great then why they
didn’t get resigned because the needs of
the teams always change too and a lot of
times teams go different directions the
NFL is always a revolving door of change
so just because the guy got released
doesn’t mean that he’s still not a
quality player he just means that he
didn’t fit the the maybe this didn’t fit
the long range plan for where he was
previously at but we brought in veterans
though you know I mean it’s not like he
got a whole bunch of green horns you got
guys that have actually played around
and been in the league long enough to
know the the nuances of the positions
know that they’re coming in to play
specific roles and they’re going to give
you everything that they have for those
roles and those are the type players
that are make make life that much easier
on you because they’re gonna go in they
gonna take their you know they gonna be
like the Z sers of the world like I love
Zack because you know Zach gonna go and
do the dirty work and he ain’t gonna
complain about it you know what I’m
saying and then when people you look
back over and people like oh we lost
Christian wil well [ __ ] his stat was the
same as Christian but you was you was
praising Christian but you didn’t praise
Zach when he did the same amount of work
and he took all more double teams and he
did all the dirty work so sometimes it
don’t have to be cute to be effective
yeah doesn’t have to be pretty it just
got to be effective and where we you
know where we are right now every every
every you know what I’m saying every
position needs to be highly effective
and I think Chris grid did an amazing
job of going out and get guys to push
and boost those scores in those location
in those areas of the defense so that we
don’t you know we don’t take any steps
backwards so the floor is not this
year’s floor is not last year’s floor
but is there one there’s always one but
I think the rosters this Rost is a
little more balanced than previous year
so I’ll give you I I’ll let you go
