How To Bridge To BASE | Defi Passive Income

welcome back to the cryp lives YouTube channel in today’s video we’re going to talk about bridging to base maybe you’ve you know wanted to use something on extraios Drome I mean what am I sitting on here 200% 188% 34% sitting on $540 profit this week and $292 profit this week on that maybe lending protocols or as you can see aerody drum biggest decks some opportunities on you to swap extra B overnight Finance moonwell for Lending etc etc or maybe this video will be helpful to understand bridging onto any other blockchain because something is always attracting tvl and just understanding what we’re doing here is important so there’s going to be two main things we’re going to cover understanding that you need uh coins on that blockchain to actually pay for gas fees and two how to actually do it now there’s 101 ways to do it I use a protocol called rubic I have probably sent I’ve definitely sent hundreds of thousands of dollars through Rubik never had an issue and the one time I did have an issue their support was freaking on it like on it on it within I wonder if it still pops up yeah there it is oh this is beautiful uh something kind of got missed I don’t know how much I had I don’t think it was a huge amount um I was sending over actually this is great yeah 4,000 4 $200 and it got something happened and it got stuck somewhere and they were so quick to support me um they found it they sent me a different link eventually it went through beautiful thank you and I was happy as can be uh I am not paid by rubic I’m not affiliated anyway I don’t have any vested I don’t get anything from this they’ve just been great I’ve never had a problem and so this is my go-to and I use them all the time now this is how simple it is let’s say we’re on I’m going to go to the B&B chain just for fun there we go all right let’s say on the B&B chain and it looks like I have 10 usdc and I want to send it to I mean it doesn’t matter what we do let’s say I want to send it over to base for our example and I will send it I want to send it over to base in eth because I want that I want the eth over so I can pay for gas fees so if you are funding a brand new wallet and you have nothing on there you’re going to want to send eth so then you can swap most of that eth for usdc or for whatever asset you want so you can actually use it if I had nothing on base and I just sent $10 of usdc from BNB to $10 of USD BC onto base it would definitely get through we’ll just let it this load as you can see Rubik finds the best path for you uh so this would cost me literally 80 cents it looks like blah blah blah it looks like I would get around $920 around 80 cents to zap over to base uh through symbiosis because everything else would be a lot more expensive as you can see but if I did that great I’d have $920 of USD BC sitting on base but I couldn’t do anything with it because I’d have no eth to actually pay for gas so the better way to do it is just send over all of it so you don’t only have to do one bigger transaction you only have to bridge it once I could send it all over based to eth and I’ll show you what this looks like literally I’m going to get $9.99 worth of eth over there as well but I’m going to prev to swap this usdc to axle usdc it’s going to bridge it and then it’s going to swap it over into eth that whole transaction should take around 3 minutes and cost me around two 2 58 I’m going to swap this I’m going to allow it so 10:05 next approve now I’m only bridging $10 because that’s just what I’m using as an example but if I sent 100 it would still be the same fee if I sent a th it’s going to be pretty damn close to the same fee uh obviously when you send 10 the fee is going to bite into a lot of that like with gas fees and all of that you can see starts starts adding up for just 10 but watch this if I exited this what do I have a lot of this will be a great example here [Music] um it’s not this is going to make some crazy swaps for me I don’t think this would be the best one to use because it’ll probably charge me an arm and a leg maybe not let’s see I wish I had more so that’s 178 that’s worth 178 I’d get 176 no be about the same so again cost me around two bucks blah blah blah but I’d send $178 worth over to ethon base and you can see this is you can see it I’m going to go swap and I’ll show you so you know I will pay some gas fees um yep approve I will pay some gas fees there it is so again it’ll still be up there in gas fees right now 535 but as you can see I’m sending 178 for around the same price that I’m sending 10 now you could scale that to whatever you want you could you could send I usually send like4 four or $5,000 at a time I just don’t have much in here but maybe I have something on somewhere else let’s go uh maybe I have something on arbitr I keep everything off my metamask typically everything sits in tangum but again I could send from arbitrum I could send it over to base I could send all my $82 from arbitrum usdc to base eth or to whatever I want and again fees would be around the same I could send 820 8,200 and the fees stays somewhat the same so it’s definitely worth sending more if we’re starting to play bridging $5 you’re going to pay just as much in fees to bridge it and it makes no sense at that point I hope that makes sense so let’s do here I’m going to send 20 as an example and I’m going to send it over to base or any blockchain I want of course you can see all the different examples of things I could send I could send it over to polygon salanta whatever I want but for this example we’re going to send it over um to base you can see the path it’s going to take I have to change the network to arbitrum of course switch perfect manage allowances I’ll approve it for 20 perfect we will pay now arbitrum actually might be less in gasp than B&B was so it might actually be a more efficient transaction here let’s have a look let’s have a look yeah it’s 282 versus the $6 BNB was charging this is actually a very efficient path here from arbitrum to base I’m going to confirm it I’m actually turn off my video for a second cuz it’s kind of freezy my computer’s working hard but either way you can see I’m going to pause this video says it’s going to take around five minutes I can actually go over here and view these transactions let me click here and as you can see you know I I’ve bridged five grand four grand 8 Grand Etc will let her do her thing I’m going to pause the recording and I’ll see you back in a few minutes once it’s done just for context let’s go over to my base to show you how much eth I have right now it’s not going to be much perfect $114 of eth when I come back I should have 34 is so I’ll see you back in a few minutes all righty and there we go it took about I don’t know four minutes maybe even less and now I would have eth on base so I could go into if I wanted to go into Aerodrome and swap out you know some of that eth I have on base let me make sure I’m actually on base not arbitrum yep I could go in I could say hey I want to swap out some of that eth for whatever asset it is I’m looking to buy and interact with whatever protocol on base I choose to interact with earn yield on Etc uh so I love rubic it’s a great tool ultimately it’s up to you there are others uh and there are other ways to do it and sometimes those other ways can save you a buck but just the ease of use to me is well worth it so I hope that video helps and I hope it answers some of the questions that I’ve been getting asked regarding bridging with that
