What happens when there is a 50:1 stock split? Fundamentally, more people have the ability to buy puts/calls because they become cheaper. Yes the options themselves are smaller, but there are so many regards that it doesn’t matter. Therefore, I’m pretty confident we will be able to swing it pretty heavily.

My first anti-chipotle “shitpost” got a surprising amount of support, so, it seems like this is actually a pretty divisive issue. Thats a case for the volatility,

And now, we come to the question.. should we try to make it go up or go down?

Well, let me ask you my fellow ape, does chipotle deserve more of our money? Or do we want to teach them a lesson? To me the answer is clear. We must destroy chipotle as they are becoming too cocky with their endgame corporate power over us plebs trying to get a well-portioned burrito. Fuck em. Simple as that. We don't need any other reason.

Either way, I think straddles are the best play coming up. But if you got big balls and want to stick to your ideals, its puts only.

The stock splits on June 25th. Do with that information what you will. Personally I have some puts expiring July 19th. Details in comments.

    1. Could someone please explain this one to me? I’ve had their food, wasn’t impress, but yet this company is still killing it!

All I’m seeing lately is pro chipotle social media posts and videos since the backlash of prices and portions .

Don’t underestimate the power of social media brainwashing to get them to grow even more

I’m gonna be honest I saw a post awhile ago and I thought it was photoshopped cause I thought there’s no way their stock is over 3k a share. What the hell

While I rarely buy options outright, prefer to sell them instead, I do love throwing some cash towards long dated (ie post split) call options, mainly for the reasons you’ve outlined

Post- split the stock typically experiences a surge in volume due to people “now being able to afford to buy a few share”, which is amazing given that the value of the options now increases by the same factor as the split

10 years ago a crack commando unit was sent to prison by a military court for a crime they didn’t commit. These men promptly escaped from a maximum security stockade to the Los Angeles underground. Today, still wanted by the government, they survive as soldiers of fortune.

When you get a stock split it doesn’t ‘create’ any value, it just makes it easier to own a full share so it’s more a psychological thing.

However, it’s also a sign of strength in the company so it makes it go up in the long run. Companies that aren’t doing well don’t split their stocks.

I thought it was against the law to try and influence if a stock goes up or down??

I have to be honest. It’s hard to take anyone seriously, at this point, who’s still using ape terminology. I could feel my eyes glaze over and stopped reading. Either way the stock moves, good luck. Plenty of money to be made there.

You need to help me understand why you are fighting a sub $10 meal that keeps you full and is relatively healthy.

    10. The only thing I know is NVDA is up a billion % and CMG is around 1.5x more expensive on a Forward PE basis

    11. Vincent_Karma on

McDonald’s is worth $100 billion more than Chipotle and has split 9 times. Chipotle has never split. A $3k share price is not that crazy.

I love Chipotle. Who is getting underfilled? I can barely carry mine out the door.

    13. I am long CMG. I don’t mind if you tank the stock, then I can buy more cheap and get in some calls

    14. All I know is fuck Chipotle. They are consistently raising prices and then giving less food. At this point it’s cheaper to sit down at a restaurant and get a real burrito

    15. Chipotle AI kitchen coming in 2026. Stores will only need 2 people to run the whole place.

1 for “back of house” just loading up ingredients for the AI controlled cooking robots and overseeing the machines. 1 for “front of house” to the take care of the luddites that can’t figure out how to order from a menu board kiosk.

I work at Chipotle and we are having a Phenomenal Q2 so the stock price is going to go up. It’s wild fucking + Comps. Good luck.

    17. Chipotle gives you a big scoop of rice and a side of everything else. Im shocked that the plave does so well. The food is super salty.

    18. Is this typical of wsb analysis/Idea posts?

There’s no analysis and no strategy and no discussion other than hype, and the idea that if Redditors bet enough in one direction, it’ll do something. Nothing about implied or realized vol, earnings or store locations, revenue or profits. This isn’t analysis, it’s just gambling.
