The news in ’60 sec to react’: UNICEF will now be able to receive, hold and disburse donations of cryptocurrencies ether and bitcoin, through its newly-established UNICEF Cryptocurrency Fund. In a first for United Nations organizations, UNICEF will use cryptocurrencies to fund open source technology benefiting children and young people around the world.

The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has rejected the latest attempt at creating a bitcoin exchange-traded fund (ETF).

Germany’s minister of finance, Olaf Scholz, proposes a national digital currency, e-euro. The country is not the only State that has announced its plans for digital currency. As The Daily Chain had reported on August 12, China’s central bank that runs the country’s monetary policy publicized its plans of launching a cryptocurrency. Their intent is to replace the current physical Chinese Yuan with a digital currency.
