Taiwan gas price cheapest since 2000



During trading on Monday, U.S. crude was down as much as 21%, to $14.47 U.S. dollars a barrel. That’s the lowest price in 21 years. Its May futures contract also sank, going as low as 22% to hit $14.19 U.S. dollars a barrel.Taiwan’s gas prices have fallen to their lowest point in 20 years. The price at the pump dropped to $18.5 NT for 95 unleaded on Monday. Fuel is cheap due to diminishing demand amid the coronavirus pandemic. There was also a recent increase in supply amid an oil price war between Russia and Saudi Arabia. Although the two producers agreed to production cuts last week, it wasn’t enough to lift the market.
