The last line of the Nord Stream 2 pipeline project was welded by Laybarge Fortuna in Lubmin, on Tuesday.
The pipeline is expected to be operational this year with first delivery possible as early as October.
A source of debate and angst between Germany and the United States, the pipeline is set to bypass Ukraine to deliver natural gas from Russia to Germany.
