So I got this letter saying they don't have enough info to credit my payment correctly for the 2023 tax year and want me to fill this response form and mail it back. I want to make sure I fill it out correctly but I don't understand what "Kind of tax colon" means exactly on the attached image here. individual? something else?. Everything else is self explanatory.
The only other thing I can't find is "address of irs office where you filed the return" because I filed electronically and looking at the HR block pdf it says nothing about an address where my e-filing got sent to. The only irs address is the one on form 1040 V payment voucher where i should send the payment to and that's Charlotte NC.
This letter has the address "IRS Department of the Treasury Internal Revenue Service Austin, TX 73301-0025" but doesn't have a street name, building number or po box so I don't think I can put that on the response form itself.
"Kind of tax:"? on letter 1687 unidentified payment or credit response form. And I can't find the physical office address since I E-filed.
