I need to provide my bank with my tax returns from the prior 2 years. I e-file with FreeTaxUSA. When I go to Account > Prior Returns and download them, they're only 9 pages. I assume this is a consolidated/summary version.

Is there any way to get at the full version that was sent to the IRS with all statements and schedules? I reached out to FreeTaxUSA support, but figured I would start a thread here.

no electronically filed return has all of the forms/pages – the electronic file is in XML and is all hypertext markup language that’s read by computers.

the forms/schedules/PDFs are solely for us humans who can’t reasonably read XML.

So there is no “full version” that was sent to the IRS with all statements and schedules. You have what you can get and that’s all that you need.

    2. Your tax return might very well be only 9 pages. Does the bank want just your tax return or also supporting documents like Forms W-2 and 1099?

once you get into FREETAXUSA, pick a year, you might have to go through all steps, but at the end, it should ask if you want to efile or mail… choose MAIL… you should have a FULL copy
