If you did not complete a W-4 then your “employer” is treating you as a contractor and will not be paying your Self-Employment taxes. Big no-no. Keep copies of your pay stub he he provides one, keep a log of the time you worked. Once you get paid check the stub for withholding if any. Do not work for him if he is not treating you as an employee, he will be costing you money. I would not be concerned as much about him documenting his expenses but him treating you as a contractor if you are indeed an employee is wrong. go with your gut.

Your “employer” says they are withholding taxes from your pay? For example you get 15 per hour but you’re receiving 10? If this is the case I would assume they are not telling the truth.
How long have you been working for them? Do they have your social security number and have you filled out a w4 or any other forms?
