Hello.
I live in TN, and the entire state was granted an extension on filing income tax until November 3rd (tomorrow). I put it off until the last minute, so went onto TurboTax to file today. The website would not let me file since it's past the October 15th national deadline.
I was able to download the TurboTax software and prepare my filing, but when I went to submit a notice popped up about eFiling not being accepted past October 15th, (though my state was extended to November 3rd). I was able to click through, and still submit it as an eFile through the desktop app. It say's it's processing/pending right now, but I'm concerned it's not actually going to get processed as an eFile? I'm assuming since I live in TN the software is smart enough to still accept it as an eFile?

Deadline extension doesn’t mean software programs have to accommodate that special circumstance. Check the status of the TT filing first thing tomorrow.
Find another software product that’s still “open” for electronic filing.
Or finish everything in TT, print the return, sign and date the 1040 (blue ink is best ink), and mail it in with appropriate postage.
