Hey everyone,

I had to do a 1040x to change a short term capital loss carry forward in 2022, I can't efile that year so I have to mail it in, I can efile 2023 and 2024, my reasoning is, I need to change every return to show the loss carry forward carrying through to the current year, so what I did was, I did the 1040x, changed schedule d and 8949 I believe, then I was going to efile 2023 and 2024 since I can, then in the 2025 tax year, ie, prior to this April, make use of the bigger capital loss carry forward, so by that time the original 2022 ought to have been processed by the IRS.

Any holes in this logic? Im amending an instructional letter with the 1040x to guide the IRS agent. Should I also try and make an appointment to go down there in person and just make sure? Should I wait until the 2022 shows up my irs online transcript in order to proceed? Thoughts?
