Corporation based in Ohio is charging food tax on all orders – dine in and to go. Feels strange that “to-go”to eat at my desk would qualify as their cafeteria premises and be taxed. Food company is a third party if that matters. Company has confirmed that the company knows best and is correct – even sent out a note in a company-wide email telling us so. I still don’t see how it’s right based on trying to research it. Company also seems very focused on promised taxes for the city and county… is this correct?

are you talking about Sales Tax? Why wouldn’t they charge sales tax on togo orders? I don’t know the law in Ohio but generally prepared food is taxable in my experience.
