Hello everyone, I'm coming for some advise as I am being offered a position that is full time, salaried and 1099. They claim they will pay me the same every week no matter how many hours I work. However its a huge red flag for me that they expect full time employee commitment but as a contractor, as I understand this is a miss classification and they can not dictate how and when I work as contractor. I am sick and tired of companies playing these games and taking advantage of people who may not know better, but honestly I kinda need the money as I am leaving the country this year. I had the opportunity to talk to the person who had that role previously and it's pretty shitty, they gave her tons of tasks and never fully established the role she did… she was wearing a lot of hats, and being the one used for whatever is needed when it was not clear who could do it. So another red flag… this company is small but it has been in business like 30 years… so they know what they are doing.
I would like some advice on how to approach this, I know I could expense my driving but would that make it better? From what I have been reading I don't think so.
I am going for an interview this Friday

Also means you will not be covered my unemployment or workman’s comp. Read if you get hurt on the job it is on you.
If you think they’re paying you well enough, and you know what you’re getting into, and you need the money, it seems you have enough to make a decision.
To me the more important question would be, does this company do things that would allow me to learn and grow my skills and level of work experience?
