Apparently I put down that I was tax-exempt on my federal tax forms on a job I had for about 3 months. I made 8500$ an paid 0$ in federal tax. Freetax USA will not allow me to file with 0$ in box 1.
Box 1 and 2 are empty.
Box 3 and 5 are both the 8500$ I made.
Box 4 is 528
Box 6 is 123
Box 16 is empty
Box 17 is 347

In what state? Did you work as a caregiver?
Being exempt would not cause box 1 to be empty. What was the nature of your work? Are those the only boxes with entries? Perhaps contact the employer and ask if there is an error.
Something is wrong if box 1 is blank.
