If you have some knowledge of what you are doing, this site gives you a way to file electronically without cost. It is heavy on data entry and you have to be careful but it does work. I have used for a number of years.

I have used free file fillable forms since the irs first started it. Used it again for 2025. Was worried that it was going to be pulled, but they kept it! Filed on 2/13 and irs website says my refund should hit my bank on 2/23.
I do my taxes before filing online to make sure everything works, then it’s a simple matter of typing the numbers. I had planned to use freetaxusa.com if irs pulled free file fillable forms.
