My drivers license expires near end of next month. I got a "temporary version" of the renewed license, but the temporary license paper, while having a drivers license expiration date years in the future, still says that it's only good for a few weeks – before my old license expires even.
So which should I use for my U.S. tax return – the old license that expires by end of next month, or the renewed temporary license that's "good until" middle of next month?

The new one with the actual expiration date for the license that you will eventually receive. But frankly, it shouldn’t matter.
