I’m a procrastinator an usually file my own taxes a week before April 15th. This year I realized my taxes are difficult, on top of my W2 I withdrew money out of a vanguard account of which there was around 20k in long term gains. I also maxed out the overtime tax credit and I’m nervous navigating filing that. I’d gladly pay someone to do them but this late in the year I’m gunna have to go to a chain place which makes me nervous. I like to do them. Do you guys think it’s possible and which service is best I usually use the paid version of turbo tax.

TL:DR My taxes are more complicated this year with overtime and investment, which paid online service should I use I make too much for free taxes

Edit – I see now this sub strongly recommends freetaxusa, I’ll give it a go

Am I still able to do my own taxes?

You don’t make too much for FreeTaxUSA. No income or form limits. Give it a try.

    2. Plenty of time to hire a professional. You may find options at [bark.com](http://bark.com) and you can explore professionals that will meet your needs. Alternately I suppose you could ask trusted friends for referrals, but that may take longer.

there is nothing complicated about a few stock sales and entering in your overtime, and something you can easily do yourself

I use Taxhawk.com. Literally walks you through everything. You can file federal for free and a state return is like $15.99. I don’t think anything yuou described seems overly complicated and you still have over two weeks to figure it all out. Good luck.
