I am trying to file a 8949 and Sch D which will both have 10 digits, i.e., $1B for the proceeds and cost basis (before you ask, no, it is only 5 digits in gains/loss lol). However, all the tax preparation online providers I see allow only max of 9 digits.
Does anyone know how to solve this problem? I am willing to pay for tax software if it's a reasonable amount, if I can put the 10 digits, but it also has to allow me to attach the 8949 transaction details for e-filing, because I do not want to have to print and mail thousands of pages.
I can break up the summary lines on the 8949, but I still can't avoid the totals being 1B on both the 8949 and SchD.

Interesting, is it possible to report the gain as the proceeds with no basis and make an electronic note explaining the situation and attaching a copy of the form.

TaxSlayer Pro web version lets me enter a 10-digit number for proceeds from stock sales, but I can’t tell if it would actually try to e-file the return or whether it would be rejected if it did.
This might be a case where the MeF platform doesn’t support 10 digits in that field so you’d have to paper file no matter which software you used.
