Wrongly claimed a treaty and filed an amendment, kinda confused (1st time doing taxes)

so for context, im (19) an a2 visa holder but also a student. i thought that i could claim the treaty 21(2) for bangladesh since im a student and its my 1st year, but then I thought it over after sending it and realised I would be safer not claiming it. So I filed the amendment and it said i owe 388 dollars (my original miscalculated refund was 421) so it checks out. but OLT tells me that I need to pay the 388 dollars now, even though i DONT have the refund yet. I didnt wanna wait in case i get fined heavily or go to jail??? kinda panicking but I already sent the amendment in. This is my first time doing taxes (no help either) so Im really confused and scared.
